Symbol-Nouns
iPad app to develop student's skills in using Nouns
One of a set of resources from Widgit using symbols to assist in language and story development.
Symbol-Nouns has been designed to introduce and develop the student's skills in using nouns and plurals. The students will develop and practise their ability to recognise nouns and correctly apply the spelling rules linked to plurals. These activities are ideal for home, classroom and therapy use and have been developed in conjunction with education and speech and language professionals.
Featuring Widgit symbols, engaging illustrations and clear recorded speech, Symbol-Nouns gives the student the support they need to understand and use nouns and noun plurals. The recorded speech gives natural intonations and tone with positive reinforcements to guide the user through the activities.
There are two levels of activities.
- Level 1 begin with basic noun skills where the user begins to understand the concept of a noun and explores simple plural spelling patterns.
- Level 2 activities deepen the skill of using nouns through the exploration of more complex plural spelling patterns.
Students are rewarded with animations throughout the activities. There is a printable certificate for every student once they have completed an activity.
