ENS Care & Support, delivering person-centred care

Over 10 years ago, ENS established their own Care and Support division, providing person centred care to older people, adults with a learning disability, mental health issues and behaviours that can challenge.

To deliver care and support that meet the requirements of the person using the service, they consult and communicate with family and professionals to help them create and deliver a person-centred support plan.

Widgit gave them a couple of options of how we could help them to support their clients. They decided to use our InPrint 3 software to create their own symbol supported resources. They have been using the software to create symbol supported documents, including: staff rotas, explanations of what support the organisation offers and surveys for residents to complete to explain how happy they are with the support they receive and if their needs are being met.

Barry Jacobs, Administrator / Clinical Support at ENS Care and Support explained how the software has helped him in his role:

"I have been using InPrint 3 for the last 9 months now and it has been a very useful tool. Making our life a lot easier in transferring our policies, procedures and other documentation into Easy Read formats for our clients. This makes their understanding of the support being given to them clearer and has helped reduce some the behaviours displayed by the clients we support due to anxiety or misunderstanding."
