Common Questions
How to find my Licence Key?
Solution 1
Your licence key is printed on your licence agreement which is located on the inside cover of your DVD box.
Solution 2
If you have SymWriter version 1.1 or 2 you can find your licence key by selecting "About..." from the Help menu.
If you have an earlier version of SymWriter, or can't run SymWriter for some reason, you can also find the licence key in a file on your computer.
Go to: C:\Program Files\Widgit\Common Files\bin\SymWriter.license
(Inside program files you may need to click 'Show me the contents of this folder' before you can see the widgit folder)
Double click on 'SymWriter.licence' to open it in notepad.
(On XP and Vista machines this file may be called simply 'SymWriter' but will have the words 'licence file' under the icon)
At the start of the file you will see your licence key. It is a string of six sets of four letters. e.g. abcd-efgh-ijkl-mnop-qrst-uvwx
