Widgit Symbols Schema
Qualifiers
Qualifiers are used in conjunction with other symbols mostly to indicate part of speech, in English we use tense markers and plural markers in other languages other elements such as pronouns are also shown. Not all symbol readers need these qualifiers either because they are confusing or because they can read the word and are using the symbol to remind them of the concept. There are options to hide the qualifier in the Widgit products.
Tenses
Past tenses are indicated by a back arrow over the verb and for other languages the future is represented by a forward arrow.
Plurals
Plurals are indicated by the double plus (similar to more and also) with the exception of jobs which is represented by two people. (See jobs).
