The Changes: People

Varied Skin Tones

To aid better representation, we've made technical changes to the symbols to support a new feature in our software for 'Varied Skin Tones'. Selecting 'Varied Skin Tones' will change any symbol that contains more than one person to display a variety of skin tones. This, along with the capability to change the main skin tone, enables users of our software to create more representative resources.

Child Colours

The colours of children's clothing has been updated to move away from stereotypical colours.

We have introduced a new red colour to avoid clashing with the red used to highlight specific elements in other symbols. We have changed the hairstyle to be more generic and contemporary.

Many symbols have been made gender-neutral where the gender was not necessary to the meaning of the symbol.
